Follow-up

Today Nolan went to see Dr. Johnson at UNM, we have some new news after a few bumps in the road. Nolan was doing very well on the MTX(chemo), he had a few days of nausea and in the bathroom but nothing too severe...that is until Sunday, he starting vomitting along with some other things but to save his dignity we will just leave it at that. We (my dad and I) took him into the ER after speaking with the dr. johnson on the phone that evening, where he underwent some testing. Today we found out that we will switch from the pill form of mtx to injections as they say there are few to none side effects with the injections. The nurse kindly sent Nolan and myself thru training on how to do these injections, so we both learned and nolan seems very ready to take on the challenge and thinks if his annie can do it, he can. Nolan has been experiencing alot of bruising so they sent us for some more bloodwork to make sure all his platelets were functioning normal. As we mentioned in our last update Nolan was tested thru a CT scan for Sarcoidosis which that came back that it did not show that, the bloodwork now indicates a SLIGHTLY higher than normal increase so we will continue to watch that and as of right now they will not treat any of that because it is just a SLIGHT increase. Nolan started middle school and is loving every minute of it, he has decided to take on playing the violin so he is in orchestra and seems to be picking it right up so i am so very proud of him trying to find something he likes. He had to withdraw today from PE because of the risk of being out in the sun to much with the MTX so he will choose another class to do in the meantime. Oh before i forget too, he did see Dr. Chiu on Friday and his eyes look REALLY good, completely clear so we are very hopeful and praiseworthy about that. Please keep little Alix in your thoughts and prayers she has been having a tough time with all this and crying alot, so lets keep her positive.

All my love,
Sara
